Adam graduated from the University of Bath in 2021 with a first-class BSc in Biochemistry. During his studies he undertook a professional placement in the high-throughput screening group at Vertex Pharmaceuticals where he developed a deep interest in early stage drug discovery. Upon graduating, he pursued this interest by joining the biochemical screening and mechanistic enzymology department at Arctoris where he worked on process and assay development for a range of high-throughput small molecule screens against several classes of human disease targets.
His PhD in the Lovell lab focuses on applying covalent peptide chemistry to discover novel antibiotics against multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys reading and will often be found in a café.
